After five rounds of head-to-head battles, The Denver Post’s greatest Colorado athlete bracket challenge is down to a pair of Colorado legends — Broncos quarterback John Elway and Avalanche forward Joe Sakic.
The Final Four concluded Wednesday with a couple of fan favorites going down. Below is a look at the championship round and a look back at the Final Four results:
- 3. Joe Sakic (66.61%) def. 1. Nolan Arenado ( 33.39%)
Super Joe does it again, this time Sakic takes down a six-time Gold Glove winner in Rockies’ Nolan Arenado. - 1. John Elway (76.26%) def. 1. Chauncey Billups (23.74%)
The battle of the No. 1 contenders proves that Denver is a football town as Elway ran past the King of Park Hill.
